I woke up to this message on AM this morning, so here's my reply. I seriously can't help myself 🦹🏼‍♀️

Getting ready for the holidays!

I needed my trip to destress before my Christmas vacay started. We've got both kids back in the house this year. One just flew the coop, driving across the country three weeks ago, only to return by plane this weekend - that was the deal. Go, but be home for Christmas.

So, we've been empty nesters for a few weeks, but it felt longer. It was part of the reason we went to Mexico. I went to think about something else for a bit.

Our oldest has been gone for seven years, never returning after college, but my baby? He's been with us for 21. He asked this morning - "Do you miss me?"

I replied, "yes, it's quiet around here," and he said, "but it was quiet when I was here."

"It isn't the same," I told him and left it there. Now I watch our favorite shows alone. It isn't the same. I miss him❤️😢

Not all love is the same - you know that

When I finished my first degree, I already had children. My mother and sister chipped in and bought me a school ring that I've not taken off since. I could have three letters engraved, so I put their initials inside the band. When I was asked why I didn't put s/o's initials in, I said, "they'll always be my kids," leaving the rest of the sentence unsaid.

Was it mean? Maybe, but it's true.

There is no greater love than a parent can have for a child. I say "can have" because I promised to love and support my children far more than my mother did us❤️

No love for me

Because I've been sick, I didn't have a chance to sneak away for some love before the house filled up. I'm going to try, but now with two extra sets of eyes on me, it will be hard to slip out. Add Christmas to that, so it's not likely people are going out with friends unless it's a coupled affair.

I've also finished my shopping, so I took that excuse off the table. What I wouldn't do for a pre-Christmas snog. Oh, well😢

Client work

Things are going well. I've not been as attentive as I could have been because of my sickness, but I'm getting there. I feel the pre-Christmas time will likely be busy for everyone, so best to lay off until the 27th. Let the turkey settle, give everyone a chance to catch their breath, and let them realize they've passed one more holiday without the sex and intimacy they crave🥵
